'To provide a proactive organisation that supports and encourages quality voluntary children and young people's services throughout the county, by establishing a professional support and delivery network that aims to be recognised as innovative at county, regional and national levels' - Pro-Action Vision Statement.
 
Pro-Action is an independent charity operating as an infrastructure & support organisation to other charities and organisations working with children & young people's services within Hertfordshire. These affiliated organisations, youth clubs and projects work directly with over 40,000 children and young people on a regular basis. As the voluntary children and young people's representatives Pro-Action aims to work in partnership with the statutory sector and private providers to bring direct benefit to children and young people's voluntary organisations.  The partnerships Pro-Action engages with cover a wide range of public service delivery, such as Youth Connexions, Local Strategic Partnerships and the Children’s Trust Partnerships at both county and district levels.

Pro-Action works closely with its affiliated members to provide them with a range of services and development opportunities.

Specific Outcomes

  •  More young people, particularly the most dis-advantaged and those 'at risk' have access to shape and engage with positive activities that support their personal and social development.
  • To encourage more staff and volunteers from voluntary children & young people's sector to work in partnership to deliver programmes for children and young people
  • More children and young people to participate in volunteering activities
  • Working in partnership to increase efficiency and visibility of local organisations delivering services to children and young people
