Stevenage Bengali Association receives £5000 funding from Children In Need!

Stevenage Bengali Association runs an after school club on Thursdays from 3.45 – 5 p.m. for young people aged 5-19.    The young people are taught the Bengali language by qualified teachers in fun filled sessions.
The funding was granted to support the group to pay for a qualified teacher as well as resources, and help provide the young people with days out and fun days to celebrate cultural events such as Eid.

Shakira and Akila from Stevenage Bengali Association run the project as volunteers and are delighted to have received funding from Children in Need.  It will help them greatly to plan and organise more activities for the young people as well as investing in their learning experience.

Bernadette Rump, Pro-Action's District Co-ordinator for Stevenage says 'It is great to see the after school club receive this funding.   It has highlighted the great work the volunteers have done up to this date and can continue to do with the funds received from Children In Need'

The project is currently run from Barclay School, Walkern Road, Stevenage
